Update: 2020-21 School Year Enrollment Application Processing and Rolling-Admissions Process
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, to date, we have received nearly 16,000 enrollment applications. As a result of the significant interest in CCA’s online program, we are experiencing delays in the processing enrollment applications; however, please know that we are committed to reviewing and processing each application in the order received.
Since CCA implemented a rolling-admissions process on August 1, 2020, the below information provides further guidance on how we are enrolling students for the upcoming school year:
- If you submitted your enrollment application and the required documents before August 1, 2020, you will be enrolled in time for the start of CCA’s school year, which is Tuesday, September 8, 2020.
- Once your enrollment application is reviewed and the required documents are verified, you will receive an email to confirm enrollment.
- If there are any issues with your enrollment application or the required documents you submitted, a member of our enrollment team will contact you via phone or email to address any concerns.
- If you submitted your enrollment application before August 1, 2020, but didn’t submit the required documents until after July 31, 2020, you will be placed in our rolling-admissions process.
- This means that you are not guaranteed to be enrolled in time for the start of CCA’s school year.
- Families who are in the rolling-admissions process will be enrolled based in the order their application and required documents were received and as technology and instructional materials become available.
- Please plan for your child to attend your local public school until such time that you receive enrollment confirmation from CCA.
- We WILL enroll your child(ren) as soon as possible.
- If you submitted your enrollment application and required documents after July 31, 2020, you will be placed in our rolling-admissions process.
- What does this mean? Families who applied for enrollment after July 31, 2020, have been placed in our rolling-admissions process and are not guaranteed to be enrolled in time for the start of CCA’s school year, which is Tuesday, September 8, 2020.
- What happens next? Based on the availability of technology and instructional resources, families in the rolling-admissions process will be enrolled in the order their enrollment application and required documents were received. This is to ensure fairness to everyone who has applied for enrollment.
- When will I know if my child(ren) has/have been enrolled with CCA? When we begin to enroll families, who are in the rolling-admissions process, our enrollment team will contact you by phone or email to finalize your enrollment.
- What should I do for my child(ren)’s education while I’m waiting to hear from CCA? Please plan for your child(ren) to attend your local public school until such time that you receive enrollment confirmation from CCA. Under no circumstance should you withdraw your child(ren) from their local public school while waiting until they are enrolled with CCA. Once your enrollment with CCA is confirmed, CCA will notify your previous school that your child(ren) is/are now enrolled at CCA.
- When can I expect my child(ren) to be enrolled in CCA? Unfortunately, based on the availability of technology and instructional resources, we are not able to provide a specific time frame for enrollment. Please know that we are committed to enrolling students as quickly as possible.
Please note, “required documents” is defined as CCA receiving the following items: the completed Student Information Form; proof of age (birth certificate); proof of residency that is dated within the last 60 days; immunization records; and the fully completed and signed Charter School Student Enrollment Notification Form.
Please note, CCA staff will not contact you through social media or social media-related messaging services and apps. You will receive either a phone call or an email from CCA that ends in ccaeducate.me or phillipsmss.com.
To provide you with a time frame of when enrollment applications are being reviewed, below is the schedule of when enrollment applications and required documents are being processed:
