In Math 8, learners develop their understanding of geometric properties and processes, proportional relationships, linear relationships, linear equations, functions, data and variability, and extended topics within numbers and operations. Learners will explore transformation and congruence, dilations, slope, linear relationships, linear equations and linear systems, function relationships, volume, data interpretation, trends in scatter plots, exponents, scientific notations, the Pythagorean theorem, and irrational numbers. By the end of the course, learners will gain fluency, understanding, and the ability to apply mathematical concepts and skills to problems with and without real-world contexts.
