Commonwealth Charter Academy Named a High School of the Year by the Pennsylvania National Guard Associations, Retains Status as a Guard-Friendly School

HARRISBURG – Commonwealth Charter Academy (CCA), the largest K through 12 public cyber charter school in Pennsylvania, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary of online educational excellence, was recently named a 2022 High School of the Year by the Pennsylvania National Guard Associations (PNGAS).

“CCA is humbled to be recognized by the Pennsylvania National Guard Associations as a high school of the year,” said CCA President and CEO Thomas D. Longenecker. “As a proud supporter of our men and women in uniform, CCA stands by our military families and thanks them for their service to our country.”

According to a release from PNGAS, “the PNGAS Guard Awards were designed to celebrate and recognize extraordinary efforts made by individuals and organizations to advance the safety, strength, and continued success of the Pennsylvania National Guard.”

In addition, CCA has retained the status of a PNGAS Guard-Friendly School, a designation that highlights CCA’s dedication to helping and supporting enrolled military students and families.

“Our unwavering commitment to our students and their families who serve our nation is ingrained in CCA’s culture,” said Longenecker. “CCA administrators, teachers, and staff take special care to ensure our military students and families receive the high-quality, flexible education and support programs they deserve.”

As a supporter of PNGAS, CCA believes it is important to stand by our active service members and the tens of thousands of veterans who call Pennsylvania home.

CCA remains steadfast in its support of our men and women who serve and have served in the U.S. armed forces.
