Hi! My name is Diane McCurdy, and our journey with CCA began in 2013 when my daughter started as a 7th-grade student. She graduated from CCA in 2019. After seeing how impactful CCA was for our family, I chose to stay on as a Family Mentor because of how much I truly love the CCA community.   My daughter thrived at CCA both academically and socially. One of the biggest surprises for us was how much more social interaction she had through CCA than at our local school—especially through field trips and school activities, which gave her meaningful opportunities to connect with peers and build confidence. Those connections lasted well beyond graduation, and she still keeps in touch with many friends she made through CCA.   We greatly appreciated the flexibility and wide range of opportunities CCA offers, which helped our daughter discover her passion for Ninja Warrior. She was first introduced to the sport through CCA’s Adventure Club and field trips. That exposure, combined with CCA’s flexibility, allowed her to pursue the sport she loves—ultimately leading to a World Championship win.   As a Family Mentor, I truly enjoy sharing our experience and helping other families see what’s possible at CCA. I’m here to support you, answer questions, and help you make the most of your own CCA journey.  

Hi! I’m Erica Mesaros—a proud CCA parent, learning coach, and family mentor. This is our 6th year at CCA, and choosing this school has truly changed our family’s life.  When we first came to CCA, my son was in 4th grade and struggling in his local district. He was bright but wasn’t getting the support he needed. After researching options, we found CCA’s flexible learning model and strong supports—exactly what my ADHD son needed to succeed. From the first call to enrollment, I knew this was the right place for us.  Fast forward to today: all my kids are thriving! The teachers, staff, and special education team go above and beyond to meet students where they are and help them grow. My kids now love learning, enjoy clubs and field trips, and have made great friendships. The flexibility also lets my daughter pursue competitive dance while giving my son the freedom to focus when he learns best—and it’s taken away the stress of nightly homework battles for me as a parent.  CCA has given our family the tools, encouragement, and flexibility to succeed. I’d love to share more about our journey and answer any questions you have! 

I’m a former early childhood educator and proud CCA parent. Twelve years ago, I chose CCA so I could be more involved in my son’s learning—and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. That “soon-to-be 2nd grader” is now a 2025 CCA graduate with High Honors!  My husband and I also have a 5th grader who’s thriving in both general and Honors courses. With the encouragement of his amazing teachers, he started Honors in 3rd grade and hasn’t looked back. We’ve been blessed with wonderful, supportive teachers every step of the way.  For the past 7 years, I’ve served as a CCA Family Mentor, helping new families feel confident and connected as they begin their own journey. I even started a weekly bowling group, “Cyber League,” to provide families a fun way to socialize and build friendships. I’m also a proud CCA Ambassador and love sharing all the reasons why CCA has been such a great fit for our family.  I hope our story inspires you to see what CCA can offer your family. Hi! I’m Susan Chopp, and I’ve been a Family Mentor since early 2021. Our family joined CCA in the fall of 2020 when our son started 5th grade. He previously attended a private school from kindergarten through 4th grade, but changes at the school and health concerns prompted us to explore other options. Thankfully, several friends and teachers recommended CCA.  We are incredibly grateful for the positive impact CCA has had on our son. It’s been such a joy to see him thrive—not only academically, but also socially. Through Zoom classes, clubs, and field trips, he’s made stronger friendships than he ever had in a traditional classroom. He’s rediscovered his love for learning and has taken part in the National Junior Honor Society and even interned in CCA’s Aquaponics Lab.  CCA’s flexibility has allowed us to manage frequent doctor appointments without compromising his education. In addition to being a Learning Coach and Mentor, I also work part-time as a program coordinator at a music school. I enjoy gardening, nature walks, family time, and practicing Tang Soo Do with our son. 

Hola, me llamo Yashira Laboy. Tengo 6 niños inscritos en CCA desde Secundaria, Preparatoria, hasta Elemental.  Llevo 6 años disfrutando de los magníficos beneficios que ofrece CCA a mis hijos y he podido ver el crecimiento de cada uno de ello. Me gusta participar con mi familia de las excursiones y eventos en persona que CCA ofrece. Algo que me gusta de nuestra escuela es la flexibilidad, el tener a mis hijos estudiando desde casa y los programas que CCA ofrece para ayudar a preparar a los estudiantes para la vida Post Secundaria. También disfruto ayudando a otras familias con tips y consejos para obtener el éxito y a conocer un poco más sobre CCA.    Hello, my name is Yashira Laboy. For the past seven years, I have had six children enrolled in CCA, ranging in various grade levels from elementary to high school.  One of my greatest joys has been watching each of my children grow and thrive here at CCA.   My family enjoys participating in engagement events and field trips that are offered by CCA. One of my favorite aspects of our school is flexibility. This allows us to have our children learn from home while also benefiting from programs that will prepare them for life after graduation. Lastly, I also enjoy helping other families by sharing tips and advice to support their success and help them learn more about CCA’s amazing opportunities.  .

Hello! My name is Tiffany Bosley. This is my fifth year as a CCA Family Mentor and our family’s ninth year with CCA. We made the switch from our local brick-and-mortar school during the second half of my oldest son’s first-grade year—and we’ve never looked back!  Currently, we have a tenth-grade learner in the honors program, a third and fifth grader with an IEP who receives additional support, and a first grader—all thriving here at CCA!  Also, as parents to a toddler at home, our journey has shown us just how flexible and supportive CCA is. I love sharing what I’ve learned to help other families make the most of their experiences. 

Hello! My name is Jennifer Harrison, and we’ve been a proud CCA (Commonwealth Charter Academy) family for ten years! I have three children currently enrolled and have experience managing multiple learners across all grade levels.  As a family, we love the flexibility CCA provides—it allows us to stay connected while supporting our children’s growth both academically and socially. CCA has created a fun, engaging, and family-friendly learning environment where our kids continue to thrive. Each year, the school grows in its ability to provide top-quality education, social events, and learning opportunities.  As a Contact-a-Parent Family Mentor, I love sharing our experiences with other families.
