American Sign Language 2

American Sign Language 2 is a continuation of the study of American Sign Language and Deaf culture, traditions, and history. This course is focused on language production and meaningful and applied language use. Learners will build on their core knowledge of the language to explore grammar and construct complex sentences using fingerspelling to express their opinions. By the end of the course, learners will have created portfolio-style evidence of learning to demonstrate their knowledge. The successful American Sign Language 2 learner will produce language in video recordings. Due to the cumulative nature of language studies, a minimum grade of 75% (C) in American Sign Language 1 is recommended.
