American Sign Language 1

American Sign Language 1 is the study of American Sign Language and Deaf culture, traditions, and history. Learners will be introduced to the basics of ASL signs and phrases, fingerspelling production, and sentence construction. Learners will also explore Deaf culture and the contributions of historically significant people in the Deaf community. By the end of the course, students will create portfolio-style evidence of learning to demonstrate their knowledge.
