Tuition-Free Online Learning for Philadelphia Families
Worried your child is falling behind in school or isn’t being challenged? Worried about the safety of your sons and daughters while in their school buildings or on the trip to and from school?
Check out CCA, a tuition-free online school in Philadelphia. Founded in 2003 and overseen by the state Department of Education, CCA is an option over your neighborhood school that allows you to receive a customized, online, quality education that will provide your student with college-readiness courses as well as career-ready skills.
As a nonprofit public school, CCA is independently run but funded with public money from the school districts in which our students live. That translates into a tuition-free, online, customized education from the comfort of your own home, on your own schedule.
It’s a big change from a brick-and-mortar public school and it’s an exciting school-choice option for Pennsylvania students in grades K-12.
Upon their enrollment, we provide students with everything they need to get started – free use of laptop and printer, plus all course materials. CCA even offers an instructional support subsidy to help families with the cost of internet service. For qualified community classes, CCA can reimburse up to $200 per child per school year.
The Benefits of a K-12 Cyber Charter School
CCA, along with other public cyber charter schools in Philadelphia, is open to students in grades K through 12 who are Pennsylvania residents.
Students learn from the safety of their own home at their own pace. Our quality education is delivered via real-time virtual classroom lessons, recorded lessons, workbook projects, field trips and hands-on learning.
Family is at the core of a CCA education. Parents, guardians or other designated adults serve as learning coaches, working with teachers to develop a customized education plan, track progress and monitor workload.
CCA’s K-5 elementary school curriculum is mostly in print and supplemented by virtual content. It includes math, science, English language arts, social studies and multiple world languages.
Middle school students in grades 6-8 work with subject-specific teachers and take more virtual classes. The core curriculum is supplemented with honors courses, electives and world languages.
High school students in grades 9-12 focus on their future. They will take core courses plus multiple business, career and technology electives, career exploration opportunities, internships and AP, honors and college courses.
CCA students build college-readiness and career-planning skills in middle school and as seniors can concentrate on one or both paths.
The college-readiness track provides guidance on identifying schools and majors, completing applications and understanding financial aid. The career track covers everything from writing resumes to understanding workplace norms.
CCA offers tutoring sessions and accelerated courses. Our drop-in centers allow students to get in-person help, and our guidance counselors and success coaches help students overcome any obstacles they face.
Quality Education for Every Philadelphia Student
You can/enroll enroll from the comfort of your home with just your email address and name. The application takes about 15 minutes, and you can save and close it at any time.
