Statistics

Statistics is an applied mathematics course in which learners actively construct their own understanding of the methods, interpretation, communication, and application of statistics in the world around them. Learners will be introduced to exploring data, how to plan and design a study, anticipating patterns, and analyzing data. Basic probability theory will be explored before moving into the study of sampling distributions and confidence intervals. Problem-solving, critical thinking, and real-world application of mathematical concepts are emphasized throughout the course.
