No findings or exceptions found by auditors
HARRISBURG – Commonwealth Charter Academy (CCA), the most sought-after K through 12 public cyber charter school serving more than 33,000 Pennsylvania students, proudly announces that it has received a clean independent audit for the 2023-24 school year. This audit, as mandated by section 218 of the Public School Code, was conducted by a highly reputable, qualified, independent, certified public accounting firm, and revealed no exceptions, findings, or deficiencies with internal controls.
“Despite misconceptions spread by the media and traditional public education organizations, public cyber charter schools are subject to annual independent audits just like school districts,” said CCA President and CEO Thomas D. Longenecker. “Our Business Office, staffed by skilled and dedicated professionals, consistently achieves clean audits, demonstrating our commitment to responsible management and use of public, taxpayer funds.”
In addition to routine auditing practices, the audit also included the following, in compliance with Act 55 of 2024:
The Independent Audit Committee of the Board reviewed the audit during a public meeting on Friday, February 7, 2025. The full Board is expected to formally accept the audit at its regular public meeting scheduled for 9 a.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
