CCA Named One of the Best Places to Work in PA for 2025

Fourth consecutive year staff recognize CCA for its outstanding workplace culture

HARRISBURG – Commonwealth Charter Academy (CCA), Pennsylvania’s most sought-after K-12 public cyber charter school, has been named one of the Best Places to Work in PA for 2025 by the Central Penn Business Journal and Lehigh Valley Business, marking the fourth consecutive year CCA has earned this recognition.

“CCA employs nearly 3,000 talented professionals who serve more than 35,000 students and their families across the state,” said CCA President and CEO Thomas D. Longenecker. “Our family-focused culture of respect, dignity, and professionalism drives both our growth and the positive feedback we receive. I applaud each member of Team CCA for going above and beyond for our families and each other.”

Founded in 2003, CCA is a family service organization with an expertise in education, offering students a high-quality, personalized, and flexible education tailored to their unique needs and learning styles. Through its proprietary learning management system and in-house designed K-12 courses, CCA leverages innovative technology and practices to prepare students to become productive, socially responsible citizens.

“CCA is unique among public schools in Pennsylvania because students and families are at the center of every decision we make,” Longenecker added. “Every staff member’s commitment to supporting students and families is what makes our success possible.”

Best Places to Work in PA identifies top employers statewide in three categories: small (15-99 employees), medium (100-249 employees), and large (250+ employees). To qualify, organizations must meet specific criteria and undergo a rigorous two-part evaluation. Workplace policies, practices, and demographics account for 25% of the score, while an employee survey measuring workplace experience accounts for 75%. Combined scores determine the rankings.
