Honors English 12

British literature is the focus of English 12. Throughout this course, learners explore classic and modern readings from England. This rigorous course asks learners to analyze and apply what they have learned in their previous English courses to British Literature. Short stories, poetry, novels, drama, articles, and personal accounts are read. Learners will refine their writing skills and practice effective revision as they write argumentative, explanatory, literary analysis, reflective narrative, and personal narrative pieces. The successful Honors English learner demonstrates mastery of standard English material in prior grade levels. Learners should expect a rigorous reading and writing curriculum, in-class discourse, and a faster pace. The most successful Honors English learners are strong writers with highly developed organizational skills.
