Counseling & Mental Health Services

In Counseling and Mental Health Services, learners will be introduced to the counseling and mental health field. Major fields of psychological study will be introduced to demonstrate the various ways that mental health professionals diagnose and treat individuals with mental health illnesses and disorders. Different counseling and mental health topics, populations and their mental health needs, and workplace settings will be explored. Careers in the field, including psychiatrists, school counselors, social workers, recovery coaches, correctional counselors, forensic psychologists, crime victim advocates, geriatric psychiatrists, and recreational therapists are also included in the course of study.
