Biology A

Biology A is equivalent to the first half of standard Biology. This course begins with introducing learners to think like a scientist by using evidence, models, and data to make scientific claims and investigate scientific questions. The focus of the first half of Biology A is ecology and ecosystems, and the impact humans have on the environment. The second half of the course investigates cells, photosynthesis, and cellular respiration. Hands-on scientific labs are integrated throughout the course. Biology A is specially designed to support students requiring alternative pacing and customized content to achieve grade level standards and expectations in biology.
