Dear Middle School Families:
My name is Nicole Smith, and I am honored to welcome you and your learner to the 2026-27 school year at Commonwealth Charter Academy (CCA)!
I returned to CCA in 2023 and currently serve as the provost of the middle school program. Previously, I was the middle school assistant principal at CCA from 2013 to 2018. With over 25 years of experience in education, I have held various leadership and instructional roles, including high school principal, high school assistant principal, grade-level coordinator, instructional coach, and classroom teacher. I work alongside an incredible team of middle school principals, assistant principals, counselors, and teachers who are deeply committed to supporting the success of every learner.
Middle school is a pivotal time of growth and discovery, where learners explore their interests through electives, extracurricular activities, and engaging coursework. One of the greatest advantages of learning at CCA is the flexibility it provides for learners to explore their interests, work at a pace that meets their needs, and engage in meaningful learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom.
We provide interdisciplinary teaming that fosters communication and a sense of belonging, ensuring that each learner is known and supported. Your child will benefit from a dedicated team of four core teachers – English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies – who work closely together to provide a connected and meaningful learning experience.
In middle school, we are committed to fostering both academic success and a lifelong love of learning. Our dedicated educators provide personalized instruction, ongoing support, and innovative virtual learning experiences, ensuring every learner has the tools and opportunities to thrive. Together, we create a strong, connected learning community that empowers students to reach their full potential.
As we embark on this school year together, we encourage open communication and collaboration. Please take advantage of the many support services, enrichment activities, and family engagement opportunities available to you.
