World History

World History begins with an overview of ancient civilizations and pre-modern societies, then moves chronologically from 1450 to the present day. Learners practice the skills of historical inquiry to analyze and interpret events within the context of the era. Transformative eras of history covered include the Contact Period, Renaissance, Enlightenment, industrialization, imperialism, world wars, and globalization. Learners analyze primary sources and produce projects related to historical study, including historical reading and writing, geography, continuity and change, and conflict and cooperation among groups.
