Speech & Debate

In Speech and Debate, a semester course, learners understand and apply the basics of creating and delivering an effective speech while developing their public speaking skills. They write and present their speeches, integrating persuasive language and rhetorical devices while demonstrating proper nonverbal communication skills. Learners also study famous speeches and debates and analyze their impact on society.
