Meteorology

Meteorology is a semester course that will introduce learners to the essential physical processes in the atmosphere. The course will include a preliminary understanding of the atmosphere, temperature, pressure, wind, clouds, and precipitation. Learners will be able to comprehend natural phenomena in the weather systems, such as thunderstorms, tornadoes, and hurricanes and also develop clear ideas about weather prediction, weather forecasting, and basic knowledge of topics like aviation meteorology and satellite meteorology. The science behind global climate change from an Earth system and atmospheric science perspective is also included. Special emphasis is given to impact of human activity on climate and how it relates to day-to-day life.
