Manufacturing: Product Design and Innovation

Manufacturing: Product Design and Innovation introduces learners to the manufacturing systems and processes used to create the products people buy daily. This course explores industrial design’s history, philosophy, and application. Learners define specific customer needs and the research, identification, testing, assessment, and implementation of effective solutions to technological problems. They will develop a design proposal; explore written and graphic documentation; and discover design solutions’ ethical, environmental, social, and economic impacts. This course also incorporates the role, purpose, and relationship of innovation in business and industry with the design process.
