Honors ELA 5

Honors English Language Arts 5 incorporates phonics and word skills, reading, writing, and language into a comprehensive language arts program. Learners will continue to gain skills in becoming fluent and independent readers and writers. They will apply word analysis skills to decode words and build their vocabulary. Learners will explore informational texts and stories while building foundational and comprehension skills needed for language and literacy development. Fourth graders will write narrative, informative, and opinion pieces. Through engaging texts, learners will explore digital citizenship, communities, the physical world, geography, plants and animals, goods and services, the Earth, and history. This course is designed to challenge learners through activities focused on critical thinking, collaborative discussion and deep exploration of content.
