Cooperative Education

Cooperative Education (Co-Op) combines school-based classroom learning with on-the-job training and productive work-based learning in an occupation matching the learner’s academic and career objectives. Co-Op is a unique program that integrates classroom study in employability and life skills with planned, supervised, practical work experience. Learners, caretakers, partners, and CCA complete a Co-Op Agreement and Co-Op Education Plan. Based upon these required documents and the number of work hours submitted via the Co-Op Log, credits will be issued commensurate with the tasks completed and PDE standards governing elective, technical, arts/humanities, or other credits. Learners enrolled in Co-Op will receive a Pass/Fail grade for this work-based learning experience.
