AP English Literature

Advanced Placement® English Literature and Composition is an introductory college-level literature course. Learners will be equipped to critically analyze all forms of literature to comment and respond insightfully about an author’s or genre’s use of style or literary device. Learners also interpret meaning based on form, examine the trademark characteristics of literary genres and periods, and critique literary works through expository, analytical, and argumentative essays. As learners consider styles and devices, they apply them to their creative writing. Upon completion of the course, learners will be prepared to take the AP® English Literature and Composition exam.
