It’s important to prepare your child for their next learning experience every day. The best way to do this is through their schedule. Using a schedule, whether in kindergarten or high school, mentally prepares kids for the day ahead.
Commonwealth Charter Academy (CCA) provides children in elementary school with flexible schedules that keep kids engaged throughout the day. We’ve created some sample elementary school schedules for each grade to help you get an idea of what your child’s day would look like with CCA.
At CCA, children can complete their coursework, attend virtual classes, and do assignments at times that are convenient for them. A flexible schedule guarantees a chance for your child to grow comfortably in a personalized learning environment.

CCA believes in personalized learning because we understand that all students learn best in different ways and in different time frames. We believe that students should master skills at their own pace. Doing so allows learning coaches and teachers to identify students’ strengths and areas that need improvement.
CCA’s flexible scheduling allows for field trips, extracurricular activities, and volunteering opportunities that keep students engaged and help them discover new interests. These flexible learning options also allow families to choose whether their learners attend online instruction sessions with their teachers in real time or watch recorded versions. Moreover, depending on how your child learns best, they can choose whether they would like to learn in a one-on-one, small group, or whole group environment.
As you’ve seen in the sample school day schedules above, CCA offers fun extracurricular activities for its cyber school students. They can incorporate clubs into their schedules to make every day an exciting learning experience. Some thrilling and include:
You may have a few questions about how online elementary school works. Take a look at these frequently asked questions to get a better idea of the day-to-day.
As a fully accredited public cyber charter school that serves learners across Pennsylvania, CCA offers a full-time kindergarten program, and we offer elementary students a minimum of five hours or instruction and coursework per school day. Class sessions are only one part of the day’s offerings and not a requirement. The time students spend in real-time sessions varies by student. One of the benefits of a CCA education is that every student can work at their own pace.
Elementary school students at CCA should spend 15%-30% of their school day learning on a computer. Students can perform offline schoolwork activities like writing, reading, and completing assignments when they are not using the computer. Learning coaches and CCA teachers should work with the student to create a balanced schedule of these activities and study breaks in between.
Yes, elementary school students can receive coursework, projects, and assignments outside of the instructional sessions with their teachers. With the flexibility of the CCA schedule, families can choose if this beneficial practice is completed before, during or after their live lessons. These assignments are in addition to our live lessons, and benefit students because they help them develop core time management skills and study habits.
In elementary school, students have four core courses in language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. At CCA, additional programs include art, music, physical education and health, and numerous other fun and interesting elective courses. CCA also offers world language courses for Spanish, German, Chinese, Japanese, Latin, and Arabic. The student’s learning coach will support the learner to establish an effective work routine so that they can work efficiently.
Our staff at CCA dedicates themselves to building strong foundations of support through family relationships. Here are a few stories about families who enjoyed the flexible daily schedules at CCA.
“This has opened up a whole new way of learning for our family. Our daughter is learning so much and has the freedom and flexibility to enjoy life and go to school. We are excited for what the future looks like for our family and CCA.” — Jennifer, Monroe County.
“I’ve wanted to do this since my son started kindergarten. We like to travel, so the flexibility and learning stability is great!” — Harley, Franklin County.
“The flexibility, the one-on-one attention, the patience, the help they provide — it’s all amazing. CCA even sends out all school materials needed for the entire school year and provides access to field trips to get students engaged with each other and teachers, and sends a reimbursement check for the internet to be paid for to complete school. I have never had so much help from any public school system. CCA is an amazing option and should be supported.” — Kayli, Lebanon County.
“My son has improved a lot, and he loves it because he can do it at his own pace.” — Carissa, Monroe Country.
