Letter to Special Education Families

Dear Families:

I would like to welcome you to the 2026-27 school year at Commonwealth Charter Academy.

My name is Michelle Orcutt, and I am honored to serve as the provost for our special education program. This marks my tenth year at CCA and my twenty-second year in education. I have proudly served learners in special education as a special education teacher, special education program specialist, special education supervisor, and now as provost.

I look forward to partnering with you on your child’s education journey here at CCA to ensure they meet their educational goals. Thank you for trusting CCA as your educational partner. We are committed to working with you to plan your child’s goals program within their IEP.

At CCA, our special education team looks forward to learning more about your child, their strengths and interests, and to working to meet their needs through their IEP. Your child will work closely with their special education teacher in classes, small group settings, and one-on-one sessions. In addition, your child’s special education program will partner with any assigned related service providers to ensure continuity of service is provided in the IEP.

As we embark on this journey, we encourage open communication between families and staff. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me or your child’s special education teacher. We are to support you and your child.

IMPORTANT ORDERING INFORMATION

Students in grades 9-12 can place their own order.
Caretakers must order for students in grades K-8 by logging into Comet’s Tech Closet with their edio account information.
Each item has quantity limits on a per school year or life of the unit basis.
