We at CCA believe student success is a team effort, which is why we provide the means to build strong foundations for support through family-to-family relationships. Through our Family Services Department (FSD) which houses several non-academic resources, we’re able to assist new students and their families during and after the transition into cyber school.
Our teachers work closely with each family to build a support system that includes the student and parent, or other designated learning coach. Through collaborative family services outreach, we work diligently to foster the connection between CCA and the families we serve.
The FSD includes resources such as:
The FIC is available to answer questions or concerns regarding any aspect of the family mentoring role. This individual oversees mentors from several Pennsylvania regions to help families benefit from CCA’s unique cyber school.
Family Mentors are veteran parents assigned to new families that enroll in our program. They are available year-long to answer any non-academic questions and offer advice to Learning Coaches, students and their families as they become acquainted with online education. CCA’s Learning Coaches will work closely with the student and the teacher to individualize lessons and organize learning routines. They input daily attendance, monitor student lesson progress and assist your child with time management and task prioritization. Often times, this role is filled by the parent. However, if parents are unable to function as the learning coach, they are given the option to designate their child’s coach who will help the student learn and grow while enrolled in CCA. Learn more about learning coach responsibilities here.
CCA operates 12 Family Service Centers across Pennsylvania that serve as a resource for learners and their families. CCA teachers conduct virtual classes from the Family Service Centers, and families can stop by for in-person help with enrollment, meetings with administrators and guidance counselors, or use any of our extensive services. Our service centers also host open house sessions for potential families to learn what online schooling is like, along with other conservatory events. Visit a Family Service Center in your area:
